Three York Late Music concerts coming-up this weekend

From Bach to Bartok, Brahms to Bryars; Webern, Pärt, Farrenc and Debussy. New works, old works, York-based composers and even a A York Suite ‘Eboracum’  by Richard Stoker.


Performers: David Hammond (piano), Lesley Schatzberger (clarinet), Nicola Tait Baxter (cello), Paul Nicholson (piano), Savva Zverev (violin) and Sid Ramachander (piano).


Three concerts that define what York Late Music is all about.

Amabile Clarinet Trio: Lesley Schatzberger (clarinet), Nicola Tait Baxter (cello) & Paul Nicholson (piano) - Saturday 6th April, 1:00pm

 

Louise Farrenc: Trio for clarinet, cello and piano, Op. 44  Johannes Brahms: Trio for clarinet, cello and piano, Op 114  Steve Crowther: Transcriptions from Morris Dances (1st perf.)

 

Savva Zverev (violin) & Sid Ramachander (piano): Saturday 6th April, 7:30pm

Webern:  Four Pieces for Violin and Piano (Op. 7) Lutoslawski: Subito for Violin and Piano

Bartok: Sonata for Solo Violin   Pärt: Spiegel um Spiegel Franz Waxman:  Carmen Fantasy

There will be a preconcert talk by composer Nick Williams at 6.45pm with a complimentary glass of wine or juice.
