David Hammond (piano) – Yorkshire Airs and a Cuckoo in Spring

In this concert, Yorkshire Airs and a Cuckoo in Spring, pianist David Hammond continues his exploration of composers with a Yorkshire connection. The programme includes music by the remarkably talented Richard Stoker, William Baines’ Goodnight to Flamboro’, Sadie Harrison’s tribute to Baines, 3 Portraits of William Baines from Shadows plus Frederick Delius’ On hearing the first cuckoo in Spring.

Jakob Fichert (piano)

Jakob Fichert presents a concert of music curated by Tom Armstrong, composer and York University alumnus, consisting of a tapestry of variations — four discreet panels threading together variation works from the 19th to the 21st centuries.

Ian Pace (piano)

The Beethoven Project: Ian Pace continues his exploration of Beethoven’s nine symphonies (transcribed by Franz Liszt) with his iconic Pastoral Symphony No.6. The concert will include Michael Finnissy’s English Country Tunes (1-3), Beethoven: Six Goethe-Lieder (transcribed by Franz Liszt) and a new work by Steve Crowther.
